Rob Smith

Only three cities across the country had a hotter job market than Seattle last year.

CareerBuilder and Emsi compared actual job growth to what would have been expected based on national job growth trends. That statistical analysis found that Seattle added 78,082 jobs in 2015. Almost half of those exceeded expected job growth expectations.

Expert says property owners will face a new problem: What to do with all that parking?

JON SILVER

Keynote speaker Tony Seba told the 1,200-member audience at Downtown Seattle Association’s annual State of Downtown breakfast yesterday that Seattle is on the cusp of a major change in transportation. Self-driving car services — with fleets of vehicles like the Google SUV now roaming the streets of Kirkland — could soon replace personal vehicles.

JOSH BOAK

WASHINGTON (AP) – Few neighborhoods can match the perks of Adams Morgan in Washington, D.C. – a reality that reflects a broader problem for the U.S. housing market.

Residents of Adams Morgan enjoy a bevy of bars, restaurants, exercise studios and shopping, just steps from their row houses and condo buildings. Home values are reasonable relative to neighborhood incomes. And in general, the area schools rate as better than average nationally.
